Forty Five plus 2

As I have matured I have realized that this quote is so true!
Who among us had not had an unfortunate circumstance occur only to learn much later that it has
impacted us in a positive way.
And don't you love to be in the company of those who are happy and optimistic.
Doesn't that make you feel much better yourself!
Life's lessons are often very hard to learn so I guess
we should chill out and realize that

"Everything Happens for a Reason"!

Forty Five plus 1

November 11, 2013

Today's Quote makes you really think about yourself and how and why you are the way you are.

We are amazing marvelous creatures - all put here for a purpose.  Do you know what your purpose is?

I think about this a lot lately and as of yet I still am not sure.  Sometimes I think it was to bring my beautiful children into this world so they could create their children and so on and so on.  Could this answer be that simple.  Who knows.  But if that is the reason it is certainly enough for me!

45 Years and The Adventure Continues!

Well I have been a little lax in keeping up with this blog because I am so busy with everything else.  No excuses here…….just facts.  So today Joe and I are celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary
and our children sent us a thoughtful gift called
Gathering Thoughts "365".

Everyday we will read one of the cards and ponder it's meaning and how it may relate to us -
past, present or future.
It is a lovely gift and
I thought I would let you join in the journey of self discovery.
So today we shall begin.
I will be posting the quote here and my hope is
that you enjoy this adventure as much as we do.
Feel free to comment below if something really
touches your heart!

Welcome to my Studio!

Okay - here are the pictures of the progress on my studio!  Of course I love it and it has been successful in sparking my creativity.

The perfect chair for day dreaming & relaxing!

Lots of wonderful corian counter space
and a chair at the perfect height for working!
Plus a smart TV for getting on the internet,
perusing Raverly and even watching Craftsy Classes!

A beautiful cabinet that was handmade in
Plumstead, Bucks County, Pa.
Yes - it is filled with yarn!!

 And a beautiful dress form
"Clarie Estelle"
to model all my creations!
The necklace is my first attempt at redesigning vintage costume jewelry.

There is still more to do and it will definitely be a work in progress for a while as there are cubbies to build and pictures to frame and hang - but it is really a working studio and I love it.  Thanks to my hubby - it is truly a dream come true!!

My Own Creative Heaven!!

It is official - I have a new knitting studio!
I am looking forward to having lots of creative ideas coming out of my new workspace!

Thanks to my wonderful hubby for designing and supervising the building of a space just for me.
Inside pictures to follow as work progresses.

Think Pink - Think Pink - Think Pink

Don't forget -
 October is
While we have made tremendous strides in the fight against this terrible disease we still have a long way to go.  Many communities host fundraisers to help in the fight and
you & your friends can do your part!
Today a group of us got pink hair extensions to show our support.

Check your local community bulletin board and see how you and your friends can have some fun and support the fight that is so important.

We certainly did!!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth Zimmerman

For All You Knitters, I felt this post was worth repeating-
Happy 102nd Birthday to Elizabeth Zimmerman
Born August 9, 1910.

If you are a knitter then
 Elizabeth Zimmerman needs no introductions!

But for those of you who are unfamiliar with this knitting icon let me tell you a little about her.
Elizabeth was a knitter, teacher, designer and author. She believed in personal creativity and encouraged knitters to experiment and think outside of the box. Her goal was to have knitters make every design their own and not worry about following a pattern!  The legacy of information and design she left behind is the mantra for many knitters and her books are an absolute must in every knitting library.  She presents information in a clear and precise manner with a dash of witty commentary.  Her books have been a lifeline for me on many occasions when I needed help with a
knitting dilemma or catastrophe.  I have knitted my share of Elizabeth's designs in a Zimmermania Class I took in State College at a wonderful little yarn store
 Stitch Your Art Out.

Baby Surprise Jacket worn by my grandson Dylan!

My mentor and knitting teacher "Cynthia" instilled in me the importance of of Elizabeth Zimmerman's place in the knitting community.

I am very fortunate to have two books that have been autographed by Elizabeth!  Her wit and light-hearted attitude is most evident in the inscription that can be found in my copy of "The Knitter's Almanac".

And do you believe the amazing price of $8.95 for a hard back book!

Knitting Without Tears also inscribed by Elizabeth!

So thank you Elizabeth Zimmerman for all you did to inspire creativity in knitters everywhere.
Including me!
